To provide a support structure to take the West East Link Water Main, across the River Roch near Bury Greater Manchester. With access for maintenance and inspection.
The main span at a length 36m was assembled in a single section, with walkways and handrails fixed in position.
The entire structure was then transported to site by a specialist heavy haulage contractor.
The support trestles were initially erected followed by the main span in a single lift.
This approach allowed the entire erection to be completed in a single shift.
