Proud to be celebrating 50 years

2022 is a particularly special year for us. Why? Because it’s the year we turn 50!

From humble beginnings as one man’s dream to the thriving national company we are today, we couldn’t not celebrate this most monumental of achievements, and we couldn’t not thank every single person who’s worked and traded with us along the way either.

As we reflect on 50 fantastic years of service, we believe it’s important to look back on all we’ve accomplished over the last half a century.

Established in 1972 by chairman Des Fussey, Fussey Engineering has grown from working on jobs such as machinery repairs and farmers gates to larger steelworks projects in and around the Humberside docks and oil refineries.

Following an unlikely relationship with the Birse Group in 1976, Fussey only continued to thrive, taking on more and more work, both locally and out of area in Sunderland.

10 years on in 1982, the company saw a huge expansion and employment drive in order to better manage an ever-growing workload, and as a result of Des Fussey’s continuous determination to keep growing and moving with the times, work soon branched out further to include a major contract in London – the stunning 1 America Square building: http://oneamericasq.com/

As Fussey Engineering continued to develop as a business, the 2000-10s saw several more major breakthroughs, from moving into our own, permanent offices in North Killingholme to working on redevelopments in East London in preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games and refurbishing the access tunnels to Heathrow Airport.

Here at Fussey Engineering, we’re all so proud of our incredible journey so far, and look forward to many more new and exciting projects over the coming years.
